Robert Huber, Co-Founder

Robert is an information security professional with experience across the financial, DoD and energy sectors.  He has consulted, trained and presented on process control and SCADA security topics, as well as intrusion analysis.  Prior to forming Critical Intelligence, Mr. Huber was a Cyber Intelligence Analyst for Lockheed Martin's CIRT, dealing with APT activity on a daily basis.  Robert gained his industrial control systems experience while working as a Senior Cyber Security Researcher in the Critical Infrastructure Protection/Resilience Division at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) tasked with analysis of the latest cyber threats and defense technologies for control systems, network protocol analysis of control system protocols, as well as network security assessments for industrial control system owner/operators.  Robert was a member of the DHS Control Systems Security Program (CSSP) providing situational awareness of cyber threats to control systems, support for incident response issues, malware analysis and training.  Robert also performed onsite assessments for owner/operators as a part of the DOE National SCADA TestBed.  Robert joined INL from JP Morgan Chase where he was a vice president and the chief security architect for the security event management team.  In addition to his civilian experience, Robert is currently a member of the Air National Guard serving in a network warfare squadron as a defensive element leader for digital forensics to include network traffic analysis, malicious code analysis and forensic media analysis.  Robert holds a BS in Computer Science as well as the CISSP, Sans GSEC, GCFW and Certified Ethical Hacker certifications.


 Sean McBride, Co-Founder

In his current position as Director of Analysis he oversees development and execution of the industrial control systems threat and vulnerability intelligence program. Before coming to Critical Intelligence, Sean instituted and led the situational awareness effort for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Control Systems Security Program (CSSP) at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL). Sean's work towards understanding the cyber threat environment for control systems was featured in DHS- and Department of Energy-sponsored trainings, presented to national and international audiences, and requested in support of administrative briefings. Sean holds a CISSP and earned a Masters of Business Administration degree while participating in the NSF/NSA Cyber Corps program under Dr. Corey Schou at Idaho State University.


Michael J. Assante, Advisor

An internationally recognized expert and thought leader in information and cyber security and the recipient of many awards in the space. Mr. Assante most recently held the position of Vice President and Chief Security Officer at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation and oversaw the implementation of cyber security standards across the North American electric power industry. Prior to joining NERC, Assante held notable positions at Idaho National Labs, was Vice President and Chief Security Officer for American Electric Power, and pioneered the security intelligence landscape in his role as Chief Operating Officer of LogiKeep ad creator of the IntelliShield service currently offered by Cisco Systems. A former U.S. Navy intelligence officer with experience in information warfare and information security management, Mr. Assante recognized the need to bring intelligence-type analysis to the networks of the corporate world by identifying risks and threats specific to the hardware, software and systems used by individual organizations.
